ORDER began as a school project in anti-uniformity: each designer was given the same brief to reimagine men's dress shirts into a women's outfit. My approach evolved throughout the process and ended up being more fundamental than reconstructive, using the shirts as raw material and abstracting their familiar language through asymmetric panelling while retaining select details for function.
The final piece is a long, flowing tunic with an adjustable strap system and removable mini back pouch, all created from the material of 4 shirts. Original elements, like the button plackets and scooped hem shape, create an irregular, articulated shape, allowing panels to open and alter the garment’s silhouette.
The piece later appeared on the runway during Montreal Fashion Week.
